2 September 2026

The Chinese trail running brand Kailas Fuga has opened its first European store in Chamonix, France, marking an important step in the brand’s expansion into the European trail running market.

The company considers the Alps a strategic area for its development in Europe, so much so that the founder and head of product development Baggio Zhong explained that the company has been collaborating with European partners for several years to better understand the characteristics of the market. The new store in Chamonix will not only be a point of sale, but also a real hub dedicated to the community, with product testing activities, coaching sessions, and athlete meetings scheduled during the opening week.

Opening during UTMB Mont-Blanc and the competing athletes

The brand also takes advantage of the UTMB week to strengthen its presence in the European scene through the team of athletes. There are over 80 members of the Kailas Fuga Team and the Fuga Mountain Club involved in the various competitions of the week, including UTMB, TDS, CCC, OCC, and ETC. According to the company, the professional team consists of 60 athletes from over 19 countries, almost half of whom are European, while the Fuga Mountain Club brings together more than 115 athletes in Europe.

Fuga EX Pro G

In conjunction with the store opening comes the Fuga EX Pro G, an evolution of the EX Pro introduced in 2025, designed for races on mixed terrain from 30 to 100 kilometers. The shoe combines a racing structure with a carbon plate and a cushioning system with an integrated gaiter, similar to a sock, designed to prevent gravel and debris from entering the shoe. Weighing 269 grams, the model has a 5 millimeter drop and uses 4/6 millimeter lugs.
