At the Outdoor & Running Business Days in Riva del Garda scheduled for May 25 and 26, X-Bionic will be present for the first time. For the Swiss brand, which entered the world of trail shoes for the first time a year ago, the fair will be an important opportunity to introduce the three models of the range to retailers up close. With the limited launch of the TerraSkin X00/C in September 2024 and the concept “From Skin to Trail“, X-Bionic has reached a new milestone in trail running, developing a shoe that promises not only maximum comfort, but also greater control. In a world where increasingly soft cushioning technologies dominate footwear, TerraSkin takes a different approach. The brand combines cushioning with control for maximum grip and precise terrain perception – aspects that can make a difference, especially during downhill sprints and extreme adventures. TerraSkin offers three main technologies that ensure minimal energy loss between the shoe and the ground. At the same time, stability, responsiveness, and grip are increased:
- Synergy between sock and shoe. Each layer between the skin and the ground has been developed in detail to create different levels of synergy and offer the best possible running experience. To avoid friction between sock and shoe, TerraSkin comes with matching socks. This ensures an ideal fit that perfectly wraps around the foot and allows exceptional control, especially on technically challenging terrain.
- SpeddFrame Technology. The upper and sole of the shoe are not glued or sewn together in the conventional way, but are functionally connected to each other thanks to a unique and patented construction. As a result, the upper and sole wrap around each other. The soft cushioning core and the foot are laterally supported by a patented frame. This leads to greater control and stability and, ultimately, an improved running experience.
- SpinWave Technology. Together with Vibram sole experts, X-Bionic has worked on a patented sole that can adapt to any irregularity thanks to SpinWave technology. The results of a long-term study conducted by CERISM – University of Verona show that products with SpinWave technology offer 27% more grip and traction compared to two competing products in the trail running sector due to increased ground contact.
In addition to these innovations, TerraSkin offers a range of other technical features designed to ensure high performance: The experience gained in the proven circular knitting process for clothing has also been applied to the new shoe concept – SkinKnit allows the shoe to wrap around each foot like a second sock. Ventilation channels provide adequate ventilation in the foot collar area while protecting the foot from pressure. Other well-thought-out details, such as Achilles tendon protection and trail support band in the socks, offer additional support even in the most extreme conditions.

X00/C: Since 2024, the limited edition X00/C model has accompanied elite trail runners and gear enthusiasts on medium and ultra trail distances, such as the UTMB, to explore their limits and live extraordinary experiences. The Power-Lite Carbon offers a decisive advantage as the sole flexibly adapts to different terrain conditions thanks to its horseshoe shape, offering unprecedented support on uneven terrain. Whether rain or shine, runners can go faster and reach new heights. X01: Compared to the X00/C model, the X01 does not have a carbon plate. This makes it slightly lighter and softer, ideal for medium and ultra trail distances in dry or wet conditions. X02: Designed for competitive runners looking for a stable shoe without a carbon plate or for adventure enthusiasts. With a low drop and reduced sole height, it offers a direct connection feeling with the ground.
